A diminutive plant with beguiling flowers stacked like pagodas (or ice cream cones), Downy Wood Mint is an important nectar source for early-season pollinators, especially native bees. It will tolerate most growing conditions in the Keweenaw, except for standing water and deep shade. Easy to grow, word is that it will even establish well on slopes.
