One of those natives that should be grown more than it is, calico beardtongue (aka long-sepal beardtongue) has lovely, snapdragon-like flowers and foliage that shrugs off disease and herbivory. While it prefers some sun and slightly damp soil, it is quite adaptable once established, so consider giving this fantastic flower a try in anything but dry conditions.
