The Keweenaw Food Co-op will host a sale of native plants by Keweenaw Wild Ones Thursday, Sept. 3, from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m.

Over 30 different species will be available for a wide variety of growing conditions, from dry to damp and sun to shade. All help support local wildlife, including birds, butterflies and pollinators.

“This will be by far the biggest in-person sale of native plants that our chapter has ever held,” President Marcia Goodrich said. “We have an abundance of big, healthy seedlings, and this will give gardeners a chance to check out their plants before they buy.”

Another big sale will be held at the Sept. 12 Calumet Farmers’ Market, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Plants are $3.50 each, or two for $6.
