New England Aster’s showy bloom of daisy-like blossoms attracts butterflies and moths and makes a good bee plant by providing nectar in the autumn. The plant prefers rich soil and grows well in a sunny location. Pinching back stems several times before mid-July will help control plant height and promote bushiness as well as delay flowering. New England Aster has some susceptibility to powdery mildew, and taller plants may require staking or other support. It is very effective naturalized in drifts in native and wildflower gardens.

Note: These plants are leggy, and so we are offering them at a reduced price. Despite appearances, they should grow just fine.
